Joice Mujuru
Joyce Mujuru was Vice President of Zimbabwe, a country of South Africa. She served under President Robert Mugabe from 2004 to 2014. She is a member of Zanu PF political party. Her husband, Solomon Mujuru, was head of the army. Joyce had been active in Zimbabwe’s liberation movement in sixties and seventies. Her involvement in the Zimbabwe African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) forces earned her the nickname: “Teurai Ropa” or ‘spill blood.’ After independence was reached, Joice served as Minister of Community Development and Women’s Affairs in Mugabe’s cabinet, and ever since , she has continued to be an important member of local administration.
