Part of Varian's RPM respiratory gating system, in which the therapist uses a small handheld computer device that is wireless and battery-powered, to guide patients in their breathing during treatment and control switching of the HET MV treatment beam on and off. The device is attached with a swivel stand to the couch, within the patient's sight.
