Recent events worldwide have radically changed how security is viewed in the transportation environment. Previously, most transportation security operations were concerned with vandalism and theft. Now they focus on preventing terrorist attacks and mitigating the potential consequences of such attacks. A broad range of conventional and innovative technologies are being applied to address such threats and improve transportation security.
