A death due to electrical problems of heart. SCD is usually caused by ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation. SCD is different from heart attack, which results from heart muscle damage from blood flow blockage, rather than an electrical problem. SCD commonly results from sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).
