reciprocal lattice
An array of points, each point at a distance that is the reciprocal of the d spacing between planes in the direction normal to each set of parallel planes as measured from the origin. Each reciprocal-lattice point may be associated with Bragg diffraction in a crystal. Compare: crystal lattice; direct lattice; X-ray diffraction.
