Fe2 O3 Red, hexagonal crystals or powder, insoluble in water and soluble in acids, melting at 1565_C; used as a catalyst and pigment for metal polishing, in metallurgy, and in medicine. Also known as ferric oxide red; jeweler’s rouge; red ocher.
