digital presses
Digital presses are used to reproduce documents through the process of toner-based electrophotography, a technology inherent in the common desktop laser printer. Digital press equipment varies greatly in terms of production speed, numbers of colors possible, quality levels obtainable, and sophistication of in-line finishing. In recent years there has been a rapid growth in the usage of this type of reproduction equipment, and in some cases digital presses are replacing the traditional offset lithographic printing press.
