cost–benefit analysis
A quantified method to evaluate the trade-offs between the costs (or disadvantages) and the benefits (or advantages) of a procedure or management strategy. The results are expressed as a ratio (benefit to cost) and the ratio is used to determine the economic value of the drug or service.
