calibration error

The mechanical position error experienced in setting a positioning device to align with a desired reference frame. The error is the difference between the desired reference frame and the set reference frame. Error contributors may include mechanical tolerances, gravity deflection, backlash, electrical noise, and control system errors. The error is defined as a 3-sigma (3 times standard deviation) value.
