The Banpo Musem is located in the eastern outskirt of Xi’an. It was built based on the excavations of Banpo Village Remains. It was opened to the public formally in the year of 1958 and more than two million people have visited it. The Banpo Site is a typical Neolithic matriarchal community of the Yangshao Culture dating back about 6000 years. The Banpo Museum covers an area of 4500 square meters and was divided into Exhibition halls and a Site Hall.
