Fantasy television series based on the novel by George R.R. Martin. The show depicts a medieval-like world revolving around prominent families, particularly the Stark family. Based in the north of the Seven Kingdoms, Ned Stark, Lord of Winterfell, is asked by King Robert to manage his kingdom for him as Hand of the King. However, the Lannisters, long enemies of the Starks and the richest family in the kingdom, are plotting for power.

Produced by HBO and screened from April – June 2011, the show has received excellent reviews, for great acting, wonderful sets, and for being an accurate reflection of the book .
