C₄H₆O₄S White crystals or powder with a melting point of 149–150_C; soluble in water, alcohol, and acetone; used as a sealer for fuel cells and machine and electrical parts, for caulking compounds, and as a propellant binder. Also known as mercaptosuccinic acid.
