kente

Unlike the ankara cloth, kente is woven and not wax printed. It is ethnic to most West African countries, and developed by the Ashanti people in 17th Centruy A.D. It is said that this weaving is taken from the watching a spider weave its web. Not like the ankara cloth, Kente cloth traditionally worn on special occassions.
