1. (NH4)2CO3 The normal ammonium salt of carbonic acid, prepared by passing gaseous carbon dioxide into an aqueous solution of ammonia and allowing the vapors (ammonia, carbon dioxide, water) to crystallize. 2. NH4HCO3_NH2COONH4 A white, crystalline double salt of ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium carbamate obtained commercially; the principal ingredient of smelling salts.
