The Huaqing Hot Spring
The Huaqing Hot Spring is located in about 35 kilometers east of the Xi’an city. In history, the western Zhou Dynasty saw the construction of the Li Palace on the spot. In the Qin Dynasty, a pool was built with stones and was given the name of the Li Shan Hot Spring. The site was extended in Tang Dynasty and The Emperor Tai Zong-Li Shimin ordered to construct the hot spring palace. And then Xuan Zong had a walled palace built around the Li Mountain in the year 747. It was known as the HuaQing Palace. It has name of Huaqing Pool on account of the location of the hot spring.
