Baleka Mbete is the Speaker of South Africa’s National Assembly and the National Chairperson for the African National Congress (ANC). She was elected secretary general of the ANC Women’s League in 1990. In 2008, Mbete became Deputy President of South Africa. She is an active politician and writer, having published Essential Things, an anthology of poetry.
Baleka Mbete es el altavoz de Sudáfrica de Asamblea Nacional y el Presidente de nacional por el Congreso Nacional Africano (ANC). En 1990 fue elegida a secretaria general de la Liga de mujeres del ANC. En 2008, Mbete se convirtió en vicepresidente de Sudáfrica. Es un activo político y escritor, haber publicado cosas esenciales, una antología de la poesía.
